Supervisory Special Agent (Unit Chief) Drug Enforcement Administration
Milton A. Tyrrell is currently a Staff Coordinator at the Drug Enforcement Administration in Arlington, VA.
In June 1989, Mr. Tyrrell began his law enforcement career in New York City as a NYC Probation Officer, and began his federal law enforcement career with DEA in 1995. After graduating from the DEA Academy, he was assigned to the Boston Division Office. In 1996, he transferred to the Bridgeport Resident Office, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he worked extensively on violent street gangs.
In December 2002, Mr. Tyrrell transferred to the Bridgetown, Barbados Country Office where he was an Assistant County Attaché. There he worked closely with host country officials in Barbados, and Drug Commanders throughout the Eastern Caribbean on dismantling local and international drug trafficking organizations.
In March 2006, SA Tyrrell was reassigned to the Washington Division Office (WDO). While at the WDO, Mr. Tyrrell worked in the HIDTA Task Force and the WDO Diversion Group until being promoted to the Group Supervisor in April 2008. SA Tyrrell supervised the Tactical Diversion Group in Worcester, MA and under his leadership, the Worcester TDS conducted several high profile diversion cases in the country, until he was reassigned to the Pharmaceutical Investigations Section DEA Headquarters in April 2014 as the Unit Chief. Mr. Tyrrell is currently assigned to the Synthetic drugs and Chemicals section unit.
Mr. Tyrrell earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Kansas, and a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College.
Mr. Tyrrell has been married for 26 years. He and his wife have a 24 year old daughter and a 21 year old son.
